A2A3 Kids

Family Field Day

Each year on a Fall Sunday A2A3 holds its Annual Family Field Day in Burns Park – but this is event is not restricted to Burns Park residents! Come join us and have a great time!

Family Field Day is a great time for kids and adults of all ages with something for everyone, including sports clinics (field hockey, lacrosse, soccer, football and basketball), kickball, crazy relays and a scavenger hunt. The events and sports may vary a little from year to year, but we always aim to have fun! Look for delicious brats and root beer floats on sale, as well as baked goods, root beer floats, apple cider, t-shirts, bandanas, and books on ALS.

Annual A2A3-Phi Delta Theta Boxcar Derby

Boxcar DerbyWe had a great time at the derby! The University of Michigan chapter of Phi Delta Theta and Ann Arbor Active Against ALS (A2A3) held the Third Annual Boxcar Derby and Picnic to raise money for ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) research. Pre-built cars and some awesome new entries were available for teams to use if they choose not to build their own cars – and a new entry won the whole things! Visit the Derby Event Page for all details.

Watch this space for photos and other updates on the way from the 2011 event. Here is one story from the Ann Arbor Journal. Here is a great photo slideshow from the photo stream at AnnArbor.com: 3rd Annual Box Car Derby

Run with Ann Arbor Track Club and A2A3 this Season!

The 25K Fitness Challenge is a new running program aimed at getting youth runners exposed to fun, organized distance running and to introduce them to training for fitness and friendship that will hopefully develop the habits to keep them running for life! The program is non-competitive, but competitive runners will also find the program to be attractive.

Youth runners of all abilities age 14 and under are eligible to join the program.

Run for fun, for fitness, for friendship… and start running for LIFE!

To complete the program each season, participants must earn credit for FIVE 5K races (or equivalent training points), with this including at least one AATC 5K event.

Visit the 25K Fitness Challenge program page to learn more and sign up!
